The Kaimoo Hotels will use solar energy

The Kaimoo Hotels has signed a contract with the State Electricity Company (STELCO) to produce electricity through solar panels. As per the contract, the STELCO will buy the energy produced by Kaimoo Hotels. This is the first time that a company of the Maldives launches into a similar initiative.
President Mohamed Nasheed attended the ceremony held at the Hotel Hulhule Island for the inauguration of the project. He stressed that the objective of the nation is an example for the world as far as growth and development of a country that does not depend on the use of oil and survives thanks entirely to renewable energy sources.

From 1 April 2011, the resort place on the island of Hadahaa in Gaafu Alifu will be called Park Hyatt Hadahaa and Alila Hadahaa no more. Alila Hotels has in fact decided to close the deal with the ownership of the island.
